A Venezia il carnevale 2005 è già entrato nel vivo, fino a Martedì 10 Febbraio la città lagunare sarà un immenso teatro a cielo aperto dove prenderanno vita una miriade di eventi in tutte le ore del giorno e della notte. Piazze, teatri, locali, campielli, palazzi… non ci sarà luogo risparmiato da questo evento che calamitera' a Venezia centinaia di migliaia di persone da ogni parte del globo.

Another “Return to the Past” for the group from Milano and, after Super Superman, our thoughts return to school, this time not for “Recreation” but to remember the first day of school when the “teacher Maniva” does what all teachers do: she teaches the alphabet in her own way, with a nursery rhyme that will bring back many nostalgic memories of the past. This is Karisma’s new project, created and carried out by the duo Cipro-Aliberti, a.k.a. Fast & Furious (the authors of “No Controles”) that
also have a version of their own in the single. And, in addition to the usual techno-hard style version made by Pietro Berti, there is another one “dirty club” in Paolo Aliberti’s “French House” style, which is instrumental with only the refrain.

Roland and Universal Audio Announce Alliance
Roland Corporation, a world leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of electronic musical instruments, professional audio equipment and Universal Audio, a manufacturer of high-quality vintage audio hardware and DSP software plug-ins for digital audio workstations, announced a licensing agreement between their two companies. Under the terms of this agreement, Universal Audio will develop, market and sell plug-in emulations of classic Roland processors for UA’s popular UAD-1 DSP card. The first three Roland products to be released as UAD-1 plug-ins, the Dimension D Chorus, the CE-1 Chorus and the Roland RE-201 Space Echo, will be made available to customers over the course of 2005.
Universal Audio plans to release the Dimension D to the UAD-1 user base in the second quarter of 2005. The CE-1 chorus will follow in Q3 and the RE-201 will be release in Q4, 2005.

Moog Rack Mount Edition
Moog has announced a rack version of the Minimoog Voyager, the Rack Mount Edition (RME). The package contains all the features of the Voyager plus switchable audio out (-2dBm unbalanced or +4dBm balanced 600 Ohms). It also includes the Electric Blue back lit panel introduced with the Anniversary Edition Voyager.
Moog expects to ship the RME in April 2005.

New Gemini Turntable : analog / digital hybrid turntable / CD player
At NAMM 2005 Gemini will introduce the CDT-05.
The CDT-05’s sturdy aluminum platter is driven by a CPU-controlled high-torque direct drive motor, perfectly suited towards vinyl playback or CD manipulation. In both analog (vinyl) and digital (CD) modes, DJs are provided with a variable pitch control, with selectable ranges of 4, 8, 16, or 50 percent, along with pitch bend function as well as master tempo. Additionally, 3 DSP effects (Filter, Zoom, and Echo) with variable parameter and a forward/reverse switch can be accessed in either mode. During CD playback, the CDT-05 affords 3 hot starts, frame accurate cue, and seamless loop, for ultimate flexibility in the digital domain. The motor can also be disengaged, for DJs that prefer CD decks with a passive, non-motor driven platter. Vinyl DJs will appreciate the removable, virtually unskippable straight tonearm system (sold separately) as well as the versatility of having an all-in-one unit to move forward with the digital revolution, while preserving the legacy of vinyl.
