Rob Zombie BIOGRAPHY

Date of birth: 12 January 1966
Location: Haverhill, Massachusetts, USA
Collector of classic movie posters , fan of old horror films,
He not only produces all his records but he also does all the artwork and he directs all of his music videos.

His first metal band : White Zombie (he got the name from the 1933horror movie starring Bela Lugosi). The band's lineup was Rob on vocals, Tom Guay on guitar, and Ivan de Prume on drums. Having no previous experience, his girlfriend Sean was simply handed a bass, and White Zombie had a bassist.

First hit song: 'More Human than Human' (1995, taken from "Astro Creep:2000" ) started getting heavy rotation on MTV, radio and was featured in a number of movie soundtracks.

In 1996 Mike Judge asked Rob to do some art work for the MTV movie “Beavis and Butt-head do America”. Zombie drew the whole scene when Beavis eats the mushrooms and hallucinates, also White Zombie had the song “Ratfinks, Suicide Tanks and Cannibal Girls” featured on the soundtrack.

1997 when Rob decided to leave White Zombie and pursue his solo career and in 1998 he came out with “Hellbilly Deluxe” which happened to go platinum within weeks.

In 2001 his second solo CD. “The Sinister Urge” was released. It also went multi platinum in a short time. On Halloween of 2001 Rob married model Sheri Moon (plays Baby in "House of 1000 Corpses") who was on the covers and inside folds of many of Rob’s CDs.

In April of 2003 he produced and directed the motion picture "House of a 1000 Corpses" on Lion Gates Films. The movie made dollars 12,000,000 and is already in the works for a sequel. Also he did a song on the sound track in which he covers the 1970s hit Brickhouse along side Lionel Richie.
On September 2003 Rob Zombie releasd the "Past, Present & Future" album (a collection of White Zombie songs along with Rob Zombie songs). The album also features 2 new tracks and a bonus DVD of 10 music videos.

Rob Zombie (about internet and downloads):
"The internet is a great thing, but it can really fuck you."

Rob Zombie : "There are always new things that get me excited. It’s never been about making money. Some of the projects that I’ve gotten most excited about don’t have that benefit."

Rob Zombie (about White Zombie videos he directed) :
"I always wanted to make movies as a kid. "

Rob Zombie (on horror movies) :
"Horror movies, there used to be two kinds. In the early days there were Dracula and Frankenstein, but in the ‘70s there were these nasty sorts of movies like Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which were smaller films and the major studios, were making the same sorts of movies like the Exorcist and Rosemary’s Baby. And then in the ‘80s they hit upon Freddy and Jason and got a different vibe. They sugar coated them up and they became more poppy and friendly."
