By VSW-1 DVJs are able to mix audio/video content from separate sources without relying upon multiple independent devices or needing another artist in the DVJ booth. The VSW-1 gives performers more freedom in the mix because they can automatically switch video sources (by pressing the red "Auto" button) when using the familiar Fader Start capability found in all of Pioneer’s Pro DJ mixers.
DVJs can also switch manually between video sources, simply by selecting either of the two large buttons (A or B) on the face of the unit. The appropriate button lights up once it has been selected.
This video switcher accepts multiple video connections (component, composite and S-Video) in both PAL and NTSC formats, although it does not convert from one format or connection type to another for output. A Video Sync connection to the DVJ-X1 delivers a professional, flicker-free video source transition.
